We live in a time where rapid advancement of technologies have shrunk the world and in which the notion of time and space are being blurred. In this era which some has coined as “Globalization”, “Postmodernism”, ”Individualization” or “Googlization”, each one of us has the merit to look for personal happiness be it alone, at home, at work, within the family or within the society itself. To be inspired is not a new thing. It has existed since the birth of Humanity.
But what is it exactly? What does the Word “Inspiration” mean? According to Meriam-Webster, Inspiration has the following meanings:
a) a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation
b) the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions
c) the act of influencing or suggesting opinions
d) the quality or state of being inspired
Inspiration is every where and every one of us possesses the virtue of being inspired. Today, in our society, inspiration is seen as a thought or influence which helps to motivate and encourage. All of us want to live happily, work with joy, overcome barriers and accomplish tasks that need to be done. All of us are on the quest of happiness and we all want to “live in an uninterrupted deep peace and bliss”.
To achieve these objectives, we need to be inspired and motivated by other human beings, by nature, by music, by books, by society itself and by our external environment. Writers are inspired; Scientists are inspired; Poets are inspired; We are all inspired in our daily life, as we all dream. As Henry David Thoreau puts it, we must always go confidently in the direction of our dreams. We need to live the life we have imagined. We need to gather all the good advices, the good thoughts and be positive.

Inspiration is therefore everywhere, but should not be taken for granted. To achieve inspiration means practising, recognising the good from the bad influence and to be alert. Always make yourself reachable in order to reach perfection. And remember, when inspiration does not get to you, make the necessarily steps to go to it!
